Vaccination in Cyprus reaches the second round without serious complications

In Cyprus, the vaccination of the population against COVID-19 continues for the third week – the process was launched on December 27. As of today, more than 6,000 people have received the first of two doses of the vaccine. Medics report that so far there have been no serious complications after vaccination in the country.

It is reported that there has been only one case of “side effect” from the administered product – an allergic reaction to the Pfizer vaccine was given by an employee of a nursing home. He was treated immediately.

The immediate plans for vaccination are as follows: it is time to administer the second dose of vaccine to those who received the first dose in December – in particular, by the end of the week, medical professionals who have direct contact with those infected with the coronavirus should be fully vaccinated.

The night before the first batch of another vaccine approved for use in the EU – 1200 doses of the product manufactured by American company Moderna was delivered to Cyprus. Cyprus expects to receive a total of 16,500 doses of the vaccine in the first quarter.
