Tourists in Cyprus started spending less money

Cyprus not only lost more than 80% of tourist flow due to restrictions on entry and exit from the island due to the pandemic COVID-19 – the remaining tourists also began to spend less money on vacation, according to Statistics Cyprus.

Per capita tourist spending in August was 681.81 euros, compared to 779.31 euros in the corresponding month of the previous year, which means a decrease of 12.5 percent.

Daily expenses of guests on the island in the reporting month decreased by 37% compared to last August – that is, from 78.72 euros to 49.77 euros.
