The regulation on mandatory wearing of the mask in Cyprus came into force

The Cyprus Ministry of Health has revised the guidelines for mandatory use of the mask by the public and published explanations.

Starting today, masks should be worn by anyone over 12 years of age in all enclosed spaces where more than one person is present as well as in:

in public transport.

Workers on construction sites.

Those employed in the construction sector must wear masks when travelling by car (the number of people in a car may not exceed two).

In elevators.

A mask is not needed:

At home.

When eating or drinking alcohol.

When traveling in a private car.

When practicing sports/physical exercises (in gymnasiums, dance schools, etc.).

For cooks only during cooking.

Persons with special cognitive and mental disorders.

People with serious neurological/mioneural disorder, which does not allow them to use a mask.

In the presence of maxillofacial deformity or injury.

The ordinance on mandatory use of masks indoors will come into effect on October 15, 2020.

Violators are subject to a fine of 300 euros.
