Anti-government protests continue in Thailand

A crowd of thousands gathered outside Government House in Bangkok last night. The Thais demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-Ocha.

The police dispersed the protesters, arguing for anticancer measures. Indeed, a ban on gatherings of more than five people in Bangkok came into effect on 15 October.

The unrest has continued in Thailand since 18 July. Protesters are demanding to dissolve the parliament and change the constitution.

Despite the introduction of restrictive measures, a new demonstration is planned tonight. Authorities have increased patrols and sent about two thousand policemen to Government House.
