The first batch of humanitarian aid from Cyprus arrived in Lebanon

The first batch of humanitarian aid for the victims of the Lebanon explosion arrived at the destination from Cyprus on Tuesday night.

The collection of dry food for Lebanese residents was initiated by non-governmental organizations on 7 August and will continue until 14 August inclusive.

Yesterday, 11 August, the Greek Ikaria ferry loaded 70 tons of essential food, medical and other equipment at the port of Limassol and sailed to Beirut the same day.

The day before, on 9 August, Ikaria delivered to the Lebanese capital medical personnel of the Greek Armed Forces, necessary medicines, bandages and other pharmaceutical supplies.

In the coming days, a new batch of necessary products, which will be collected by volunteers and Cypriot citizens, will be sent to Beirut with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
