Gasoline consumption in Cyprus in September 2020 decreased by 25% compared to last September, according to the Cyprus Consumer Association, noting that statistics include the purchase of cheap motor fuel from North Cyprus.
The Association explains the decline by a quarter “change in the habits of Cypriots” in accordance with the requirements of the environment – in September 2019 there were no “carpet” restrictions on movement, and fuel purchases from the North were at the lowest level.
It is noted that the same percentages were unofficially recorded at the end of October. Research is currently underway to understand whether and how people in Cyprus change the way they move.
