The Bank of Cyprus will not accept utility bills

The Bank of Cyprus announced new measures to protect customers and staff from the Covid-19 pandemic and said it will stop accepting utility bills at its branches to reduce the number of visitors to its offices.

The new measures will take effect on October 26.

The announcement says the bank’s customers will be able to easily, safely and free of charge pay utility bills, renew permits, pay fines, municipal fees, etc. through ibank or directly through JCC Smart.

However, payments will be accepted through the cash desk to pay public services or VAT and in other single cases where digital payments are not possible.

The bank has also increased to 2000 euro the daily limit for cash withdrawals at ATMs and for cash and cheque payments.
