Statistician: Cyprus is doing well against the COVID-19 pandemic

About a year has passed since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic that changed people’s lives around the world. According to Philenews, citing data from Ourworldindata, on a global scale, Cyprus is coping quite well with the fight against COVID-19.

Thus, the country has a relatively low mortality rate from covid. Per 100,000 of the population during the entire pandemic it did not exceed 0.5% – while, for example, in Greece and Italy the rate was kept at 3-3.5%.

Cypriots are active in terms of testing for coronavirus – they are bypassed only by residents of the United Arab Emirates. Statisticians note: This proves that the country has a fairly good system of general population control – compared to other, larger countries.

In terms of vaccination coverage, Cyprus is at about the same level as several major European countries – for example, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. But all of them are far ahead of schedule leader Israel and the UAE.
