Seven more young Syrians came to Cyprus for political asylum

There are seven more illegal migrants in Cyprus – that is how many young Syrians entered the territory of the republic the day before.

It is reported that the refugees quietly crossed on foot the buffer zone between the unrecognized TRNC and Cyprus proper. It is assumed that they were moving from the village of Aheritu in the direction of Avgorou village. The group of migrants was noticed neither by the Greek and Turkish border services, nor by the UN peacekeepers and the soldiers of the British military base.

The refugees were reported to the police by the inhabitants of Avgorou. While detained, the Syrians said they were seeking political asylum.
