President of Cyprus leaves to Brussels for EU summit

The President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades is leaving tomorrow for Brussels. In the capital of Belgium he will participate in the European Council summit, which will be held on October 15 and 16.

At the summit, EU leaders will discuss the deteriorating epidemiological situation and relations with Britain after the Braxit. Special attention will be paid to climate change and interaction with Africa.

During the summit Nicos Anastasiades will inform the Council about the latest developments concerning Turkish provocations and illegal actions in the suburb of Famagusta-Varosha, as well as in the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Cyprus in the Mediterranean Sea.

President Anastasiades will be accompanied to Brussels by an official representative of the government, Kyriakos Koushos.
