Constantinos Ioannou: From next week Cypriots will be able to walk in the forest

Starting March 1, Cypriot residents will have a little more freedom of movement – they will be allowed to walk on forest trails. This was announced by the Minister of Health Konstantinos Ioannou.

It is assumed that from the same date, some high school students will return to their desks. The minister believes that it would be better to admit the gymnasium and lyceum students to the full-time study in two stages, the first stage of which should take place on March 1. But with the opening of restaurants and the abolition of curfews and permission SMS to leave the house will have to wait longer.

Ioannou said that the epidemiological picture in the country has clearly improved, but reminded that it is too early to relax. As an example, the official pointed to Limassol, which remains the “covid capital” of Cyprus – it accounts for about half of new cases of infection.
