Cyprus will spend €35 million on bus stops

A total of 4,962 bus stops will be installed or upgraded on the island. Plans call for the construction of 2,015 new bus stops and 1,688 sheds, as well as the upgrading of 1,259 existing facilities.

The project will run for five years and will cost 7 million euros annually.

All bus stops will be built in the same style and will be equipped with special displays that report the arrival of the bus both visually and by voice, which is important for visually impaired and hearing-impaired passengers.

The project has already been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus. And the 35 million euros allocated for the project is to be divided: 20 million euros will be spent on the construction and upgrading of bus stops, and 15 million euros will be spent on improving the infrastructure and road surfaces around them.
