An agreement has been reached with Russia on the purchase of 50,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine, Kiriakos Koushos, head of the press service of the Cypriot government, told state radio RIK.
Koushos stressed that the actual delivery of the Russian vaccine to Cyprus will take place only after the drug has successfully passed the European Medicines Agency (EMA) approval process. As a reminder, the certification process for Sputnik has already started.
The contract envisages the possibility of increasing the supply of Sputnik V to Cyprus – depending on demand and the availability of other vaccines in the country.
