Cyprus police caught a Russian swindler millionaire
A Russian citizen was detained in Limassol, who was wanted by Interpol on suspicion of fraud – the total amount of damage was 68 million rubles.
The 33-year-old Russian citizen was declared on the international wanted list in January. The crimes he was accused of were committed in 2015-2018. He was detained last Thursday and released on bail of 50,000 euros to wait for the court hearing on extradition (scheduled for late December).
Until that date, the Russian will have to check in with the police three times a week, his passport was confiscated and his name was put on the Cyprus Immigration Service stop-list.
