Cyprus is in fifth place in the EU in plastic recycling
Eurostat statisticians put Cyprus in fifth place in the EU for recycling plastic waste – this indicator in the country for the reporting year 2018 was 54.3% of the total amount of waste in this category.
The highest level of recycling of plastic containers was recorded in Lithuania (69.3%). Next comes Slovenia (60.4%), Bulgaria (59.2%), the Czech Republic (57%), followed by Cyprus.
The least active and least effective are Malta (19.2%), France (26.9%) and Hungary (30%).
