Cypriot gymnasium students are left on a distance-learning schedule until the end of March

Cyprus gymnasium students have been left on distance learning until the end of March – this is the decision of the Council of Ministers, announced by the head of the Ministry of Health Konstantinos Ioannou. We shall remind you that earlier it was planned to return high school students to their desks from 16 March.

Plus, Ioannou added, primary schools in Limassol, where the epidemiological situation for COVID-19 is the most severe across Cyprus, will be closed until March 31.

“Children are carriers of the infection with an increased risk of transmission/spread: the coronavirus is often asymptomatic in them and diagnostic tests cannot be administered. As many COVID-19 cases have been reported in primary schools in Limassol, it has been decided to suspend the operation of these institutions with physical presence of students until 31 March,” explained the Minister.
