Last weekend, Leondios Kostrikis, professor of virology at the University of Cyprus and member of the expert council against the spread of the coronavirus, contacted the Nicosia police. He claimed that his car, parked near his home, had been attacked by vandals.
“They wrote words on my car that don’t make sense,” the epidemiologist told Reporter. – The police are conducting an examination, and I’m waiting for the results.”
Police are gathering evidence and reviewing surveillance footage to identify the perpetrators. The act of vandalism may be related to Kostrikis’ professional activities and his status as a public figure – he had previously been threatened by citizens dissatisfied with the “coronavirus” restrictions.
