We are one of the countries that will be very much affected – on the basis of tourism, on economic issues, and also by human aspects. We have 30,000 British nationals living in Cyprus, most of them living in Paphos, and they are considered to be permanent residents.

Philippos Yiapanis and his “Nest of Art”
To the north of Limassol, near the village of Fasoula, is located the unique art park “Little Salamina”. This is a vast open-air space with narrow paths, small lakes, a small amphitheatre (repeating, in miniature, the famous excavations of the ancient city of Salamina in Famagusta) and many beautiful sculptures that were created from bronze by the famous artist Philippos Yiapanis. Yiapanis is a refugee from Famagusta, who, in 1974, was forced to leave his native city due to the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. Yearning for his homeland and awaiting his return, he created his own “artistic shelter” near Limassol – his workshop and museum. The park itself, decorated with carved stones, referring to the walls of Famagusta and Kyrenia, resembles a ship, ready to sail to its native shores. The ship theme is generally one of the leitmotifs of Yiapanis‘ creativity. According to the sculptor, this is both a refugee vessel, sailing from misfortune into the unknown (much like Odyssey’s journey to Ithaca) and a symbol of his own way home.
Theatrum Vitae’s philosophy of “unifying the world through a fusion of the arts”, is culturally embracing all corners of the globe. Founders Rafael Porzycki and Olga Balakleets communicate the philosophy behind the project and the relevance of Theatrum Vitae on the island of Cyprus in magnifying the cultural landscape. The choreographic debut of the Theatrum Vitae artistic concept took place during a charitable gala in the Presidential Palace in Nicosia, Cyprus in October 2017. October 2018 will witness the official launch of Theatrum Vitae at the magnificent Palaepafos Museum in Cyprus. The inaugural show “The Path of Aphrodite” is planned for July 2019 in Petra Tou Romiou, Paphos. Dedicated to the Greek myths, the show will be naturally built around Cyprus’ most beloved and famous goddess “Aphrodite” and her legendary birth place.
In its quest to penetrate into the mysteries of sounds, humanity has certainly succeeded. Still, music is a subtle substance: the deeper you delve, the more mysteries appear. Melody or mind – what is the primary influence? People create new instruments, rhythms and directions, but can we say that music changes us? Is genius a gift from above or can anyone become a Mozart? Neuroscience sheds light on the nature of musical creativity.
The 13th Cyprus-Russia Gala will take place in the Presidential Palace in Cyprus on Saturday 5th October 2019, under the high patronage of the First Lady of the Republic of Cyprus, Mrs. Andri Anastasiades. The Gala – created by Ensemble Productions and the administration of the Cypriot government 13 years ago – has become one of the most significant events in Cyprus and one of the most important events related to Russia outside the country. It brings together cultural, political and business figures from both countries.

Architecture is an exciting journey through the fantasy land with Grand Finale. It starts somewhere between a dream and the will to realise it – a desire to explore the mirage, to build it and to touch it. Firstly, comes an idea, very unclear at first and unexpected, like the sound of thunder. Because it appears so quickly, your brain cannot determine whether it is simply a delusion or not. Natural instinct alerts you to listen to the idea and judge its behavior. All circulating thoughts, borne in the essence of invention become notes and compose an extraordinary symphony expressed by the balance held within – the harmony of shapes, colors, numbers and engineering bonded tightly by the strong power of creation. This special marriage of art and science gives definition to empty spaces by creating surfaces and gives these spaces special functions to loyally serve the needs of humanity, as we live in a world governed by our requirements.
Could you tell us about your career as a designer?
From my early years in university, I knew exactly what I wanted, which was to create a brand of my own. In the third year of my studies, I created and established the brand ‘Anna Dorothea Milano’ and I presented my first collection in 2013 in Milan.
