On Tuesday, 11 August, 25 new coronavirus cases were reported on the island and a 77-year-old man died of the pandemic. So far, Limassol has the highest percentage of cases.
Due to the sharp increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Cyprus, major activities are still being postponed indefinitely.
But, because of the state holiday – the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which will be held on August 15, the Ministry of Health announced that the previous limitation on meetings in Limassol – 10 people, will be removed.
This number will be increased to 50 people in accordance with the decree, which came into force on Wednesday, July 12.
This condition will be reviewed next week, in line with the epidemiological situation on the island.
Measures to limit the maximum number of people in catering establishments to 75 indoors and 150 outdoors, regardless of floor space, will be maintained.
In churches, the number of visitors should not exceed 75 people.
The mandatory use of masks indoors shall remain in force.
