Vaccination of Cypriots against coronavirus may start in December

The first batch of anticoid vaccines should appear in Cyprus in December, if their producers receive all necessary licenses – said the representative of the Department of Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health Zoya-Dorothy Pan.

Along with other EU countries, Cyprus participates in the procurement of vaccine material. In December 119 204 doses of vaccine produced by Astra Zeneca and 48 955 doses from BioNTech and Pfizer will be delivered to the country. The Cyprus Ministry of Health has already ordered special refrigerators from Pfizer to store the material at -80 degrees.

First of all, it is planned to implant medics, chroniclers, cancer patients (under certain conditions), obese people, as well as those whose job involves a lot of contacts (police officers, public transport drivers, couriers, trade workers, etc.). Children will not be vaccinated. In general, the process will be done on a voluntary basis.
