US$ 5 billion for data leakage

The US Federal Court issued a verdict according to which the social network Facebook will have to pay US$5 billion for the leak of confidential data belonging to tens of millions of customers. According to the chairman of the US Federal Trade Commission, Joe Simons, who was ‘satisfied’ with the court’s decision, this is the largest penalty ever imposed by the consumer protection agency.
