The Limassol Criminal Court sentenced to a total of 18 years in prison three men found guilty of brutally robbing a 66-year-old local woman last June.
On the morning of June 28, two men attacked the elderly woman as she was leaving her home. They struck her several times with a steel rod and pushed her back into the apartment. After tying her up, the robbers took her jewelry, money and valuables and left in a waiting car.
The woman managed to free one arm and call her son for help. She was soon taken to a hospital in a critical condition and medics diagnosed her with a severe skull fracture.
Police officers identified and arrested three suspects. The court sentenced the two robbers to eight and seven years in prison, and
