The Perseverance rover delivered 9,000 Cypriot names to Mars

Last night the American rover Perseverance successfully landed in the Martian crater Jezero. Along with it 9000 Cypriot names recorded on integrated carriers landed on Mars.

The main objective of the Martian expedition Perseverance stated search for signs of microbial life in the basin of the crater, where an ancient river flowed into the lake, forming a specific sediment. NASA has already published the first images taken by the rover after it landed on the red planet.

Optional mission of the rover – the delivery of data carriers to Mars, which recorded the names of 10.9 million people (including – 9,000 residents of Cyprus), who wished to make such a “space journey. When NASA announced the possibility, the influx of those wishing to send their names to Mars was so great that they had to use as many as three microchips to record all the data instead of one, as originally thought.
