The Greek Prime Minister and the Egyptian President have agreed to strengthen trilateral cooperation with Cyprus

In a telephone conversation last Monday, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi spoke about strengthening cooperation between Egypt, Greece and Cyprus.

According to the Egyptian President’s spokesman, Prime Minister Mitsotakis and President Al-Sisi paid special attention to the latest events in Libya. Both sides agreed that foreign intervention only complicates the issue and damages the interests of the Libyan people and threatens the stability and security of neighboring and European countries.

The leaders of the two countries agreed that political settlement of the conflict through the UN and the Berlin conference on Libya is necessary.

Special attention in the conversation was paid to the East Mediterranean Gas Forum, one of the main instruments to strengthen cooperation between the countries of the region.
