Will there be a new wave of pandemics after the opening of schools?
After only a couple of days, Emba Ayios Charalambos Gymnasium in Paphos is closed again. One of the teachers tested positive for Covid-19. All the contacts of the infected person are now being tested and the school is being disinfected.
This case was one of two officially confirmed coronavirus cases yesterday. The second case arrived in Cyprus on a repatriation flight.
In his comment to the CNA, the President of the Emba School Board, Antonis Nikiforou said that the positive result was obtained in the scheduled tests on Covid-19 among students, teachers and other school staff. A total of 20,000 such tests are planned for all schools on the island.
