The Cypriot market was supplied with almost a quarter less beer due to lack of tourists

Beer supplies in Cyprus from January to October 2020 decreased by 23% compared to the same period in 2019 – mainly due to a sharp decline in the number of tourists due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Statistics Cyprus.

Total beer supplies to the local market during the reporting period amounted to 27.8 million liters – a year earlier this figure was 36.2 million liters. The decrease is primarily due to a decrease in the inflow of tourists to Cyprus, which was a result of restrictive measures against the spread of coronavirus infection.

Recall that recently it was reported that this year Cyprus has lost more than 80% of tourist flow and related revenues compared to last season.
