Smart carts scan the goods themselves and deduct the money from the card

Amazon has introduced smart shopping carts – they scan the items in the shopping cart themselves and automatically charge the customer’s card when they leave.

They are called Dash Carts and will appear in a new grocery store Amazon in Los Angeles, which is to open this year.

The smart carts use cashless technology Just Walk Out – it allows you to buy without cash and is already used in stores Amazon Go.

In order to use it, you need an Amazon account and a smartphone. When logging in, the user scans a QR code in the Amazon application. The cameras in the Dash Carts then monitor which items the customer has put in or out of the shopping cart. If necessary, the built-in scales weigh the goods. To activate this function, you need to enter a special code on the display. The scanner is able to read coupons and discounts.
