Road fines will increase in Cyprus from October 1

On Thursday, October 1, fines for traffic rules violation will increase in Cyprus. Now driving on a red light will cost the violator 300 euros. For unbuckled seat belt both the driver and passengers will be issued a fine of 150 euros and write off 3-6 penalty points, and for such repeated violation within three years.
The penalty amount will increase to 300 euros.

For transporting a child without a car seat will be charged 150 euros and write down 3-6 penalty points, and for a cell phone in the hands of a car will also be fined 150 euros and deprived of 2-4 points. If such violations are repeated over the next three years, the penalty will no longer be 150, but 300 euros.

For overtaking over a white solid line or in the presence of prohibitive signs will have to pay 150 euros, and at a crosswalk already 200 euros. For the operation of cars without technical inspection will be fined 150 euros.

For parking: on the sidewalk will be charged 100 euros, on a double yellow line also 100 euros, on the side opposite the movement of 100 euros and 1-2 points, and in the field for the disabled already 300 euros.

Fines for speeding, driving with heavy alcohol or drug intoxication and without insurance will increase significantly.
