North Cyprus may close for quarantine

During September 8, 38 new cases of COVID-19 contamination were detected in the unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

In this regard, the authorities of the northern part of the island decided to close casinos, nightclubs and playgrounds by the end of September. The number of visitors in restaurants and bars is limited. And schoolchildren (except for the first and second classes) will sit at the desks only on October 1.

As long as all mass events, concerts, weddings are prohibited, and sports competitions will be held without spectators.

Universities and colleges are still open, but only for 40% of students. The remaining 60% will continue their studies remotely. Private educational institutions and kindergartens are still open.

At present, TRSK has a mandatory 7-day or 14-day quarantine for all those who come to the territory of the unrecognized republic. Newcomers will bear all quarantine costs.
