This year’s first Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology for the discovery of the hepatitis C virus was awarded to scientists Michael Houghton, Harvey Alter and Charles Rice.
The amount of the prize in 2020 was 10 million Swedish kroner, which is about $1.1 million.
