Nicos Anastasiades: there are no plans for a third lockdown in Cyprus

On the occasion of World Health Day, the President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades made an optimistic statement, noting in particular that Cyprus can set an example for other states in the fight against COVID-19, and reported that no third lockdown is currently planned in the country.

The President recalled that Cyprus has ordered and is ready to receive vaccines against the Covid-19 coronavirus for two million people. It is expected that the entire population of the country, aged 45+, will have been vaccinated by mid-May.

Referring to the planned recovery of the Cypriot economy after the pandemic, he assured that all sectors of the economy would be fully functional by June.
