New “Covid” measures begin to operate in Cyprus on Monday, November 30 (remember, earlier it was reported that the package of restrictions will be updated from December 1).
From November 30 to December 13, curfews are announced on the island from 21:00 to 5:00. Restaurants, cafes and bars are open until 19:00, after only takeaways. Public transport can be loaded at most half of its capacity, sea ports stop serving passengers.
Casinos and bookmaker’s offices are closed. The work of gyms and swimming pools, training and sports competitions for persons under 18 years old, playgrounds and amusement parks are suspended.
Mass events are prohibited. Divine services can be attended by a maximum of 75 believers, weddings, baptisms and funerals can not gather more than 10 people; these events can be celebrated only in the home format with the same restrictions on the number of people.
Stores, supermarkets and shopping centers can work by observing the attendance regime “one visitor per 10 sq.m. of area”. Beauty salons, hairdressing salons and tattoo centers are allowed to work, and driving schools are open. It is possible to visit museums, galleries, exhibitions and sightseeing. The work of theaters and movies is allowed with 50% occupancy rate.
From December 14 to January 7 curfew is valid from 23:00 to 5:00 (exception: December 24 and December 31 – from 2:00 to 6:00. Maximum number of people in houses and apartments is 10 people, including children (exception: December 23 – January 1, 15).
Restaurants, bars and cafes are open until 22:30 (exception: December 24 and December 31 – until 0:30).
There is a ban on holding mass events. It is prohibited to gather people, including demonstrations. Christmas villages and fairs can be organized in the open air with a social distance, sanitary standards and 50% occupancy rate.
Playgrounds for children, entertainment and theme parks are closed, and the work of sports centers, gyms, dancing schools, etc. is permitted (without spectators and without using locker rooms). Sports competitions may also be held without spectators.
Restrictions on public transport, half occupancy of theaters and cinemas, as well as markets remain relevant. Shopping centers, stores and pharmacies serve the elderly and people with disabilities until 9:00.
Bookmaker’s offices and casinos are opened.
Restrictions on the work of government agencies remain in force: attendance – one person per 8 sq.m. area, where possible – appointment by appointment. There are restrictions on the work of courts (based on the instructions of the Supreme Court).
It is allowed to hold worship services with up to 75 people, weddings, christenings and funerals – up to 10 people, and it becomes possible to hold lunches and dinners on these events, with the same restriction on the number of people.
