Names of 20 professions on which the coronavirus will hit hardest

Analysts at Glassdoor – one of the world’s largest job search and recruitment sites – have analyzed more than a million published job vacancies and compiled a list of 20 professions that have seen the greatest decline in demand during the pandemic and will be at risk in 2021.

The list is headed by an audiologist, and the top five also include an event coordinator, product demonstrator, optician and chef. The following specialties follow: assistant manager, beauty consultant, hotel worker, stylist, coach, brand ambassadors, pet groomer, physiotherapist, university teacher, and personnel specialist. Close the list of professions of a bill payment specialist, receptionist, instructor, sales manager and accountant.

“The pandemic and the global crisis are changing consumer behavior and habits in the workplace – so a number of professions, such as an audiologist, assistant manager or coach, may not recover and may never return to mass positions for many years or ever,” analysts believe. They specify that the forecast did not take into account other factors and unforeseen events that may occur in 2021.
