Low-income pensioners in Cyprus will get a back-dated increase in their benefits

The Cypriot government’s decision to increase allowances for low-income elderly people, according to which the minimum allowance is set at least 710 euros per month, will come into force retroactively – from January 2020. This was announced by the Minister of Labor of Cyprus Zeta Emilianidou.

The minister specified that about 30,000 low-income pensioners will receive the allowance. This will happen in 2021, and for this purpose from the state budget allocated 19 million euros.
