The European Commission has authorized a loan of 22 million euros to the Cyprus company Hermes – operator of the international airports of Paphos and Larnaca.
The funds were allocated under the EU program, adopted in March to support businesses affected by the SOVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to this source of funding, Hermes is expected to survive more easily the next few months, which promise to be difficult due to the general worsening of the epidemic in Europe and the tightening of related restrictive measures, including a partial lockdown directly in Cyprus.
Issuing the loan implies that the company commits to pay it within six years.
