Greece, Cyprus and Israel signed a program of trilateral military cooperation for 2021.
A statement issued by the Hellenic General Staff of National Defense said the program of the trilateral military agreement is expected to further strengthen cooperation between the armed forces of Greece, Cyprus and Israel.
The three countries took that decision after they agreed to cooperate in developing the region’s energy reserves and to participate in the construction of an ambitious €7 billion project, the East Med Pipeline.
The armed forces of the three countries have already conducted air and sea maneuvers off the coast of Cyprus several times. Other regional partners Egypt, France and Italy have also recently participated in joint defense exercises off the coast of the island.
