The Health Insurance Organization (HIO) has decided to set limits on the number of patients per day for certain specialist doctors working under the Gesy program.
Patients can now see specialist doctors as often as they wish, do free cardiograms, MRI scans, etc. Even if these tests are not justified. Specialist doctors were free to make an appointment for any number of visitors, because it depended on their income. Private doctors were able to earn money by simply registering patients. The income of some reached 200,000 last year.
To limit HIO abuse, HIO now decided to set limits on the number of visits to obstetricians, dermatologists, urologists, etc. And also to set limits on MRI, stress tests and other studies.
