Cybercriminals have become more active in Cyprus during the week – they send people mass emails about the alleged arrival of parcels in the post offices and require confirmation of receipt of the notice.
Police warn citizens that they should not respond to such messages or activate links. When a user clicks on an attached link, fraudsters can gain access to his device and personal data, including passwords and bank card details.
The victims of fraudsters and those who want to learn more about safe behavior on the Internet are invited to contact the Office for Combating Cybercrime by phone. 22-808200 or via cyberalert.cy.
