Eurostat calculated the availability of housing in the EU countries – it turned out that only two-thirds of Cypriot families have their own homes (67.9%). This is the 22nd place in the EU.
Romania heads the corresponding rating – 95.8% of its citizens own houses and apartments where they live. Germany is at the bottom of the list – despite the fact that it is one of the richest countries of the EU, here lives only half the population (51.1%).
71.9% of Cypriot families live in homes, 27.4% – in apartments, another 0.7% fell into the category of “other” – is the house on wheels, houseboats, etc. There are two rooms per family member – more than the EU average (1.6).
