Erdogan wants European integration despite provocations against EU member states

Turkey is committed to European integration and seeks to build a joint future with Europe, said President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a video conference with members of the Justice and Development Party.

“In addition, Ankara is committed to deepening cooperation with all friendly countries and allies. Turkey is also ready to actively use its close allied relations with the United States to solve all regional and global problems,” Erdogan added.

Let us remind that only last month Ankara seriously strained its relations with two EU countries – France and Cyprus. Turkey’s policy towards the latter – the continued exploration in the Cypriot EEZ and Erdogan’s demonstrative visit to the occupied city of Varosha – was condemned by representatives of several individual EU states and the entire European community.
