Cyprus police announced anti-telephone raid on roads

Drivers distracted by the phone is one of the main threats to road safety.

According to accident statistics, for example, in the U.S., one in four accidents is caused by the use of a phone. Distracted by calls or dialling a number, drivers are at best involved in a minor accident, at worst it can end tragically. In Cyprus, these statistics are not comforting either.

Cyprus police are constantly conducting raids to identify offending drivers.

Last Sunday it was again announced a two-week campaign, which will begin on Monday, September 14, and will target those who use the phone while driving. Thus, provoking serious traffic accidents. The campaign will last until Sunday, September 27.
