According to the measurements of air quality monitoring ground stations of the Department of Labor Inspection of the Republic of Cyprus, today, September 29, there is a high concentration of dust in the air.
People with various chronic diseases of the nasal cavity, throat, bronchi, lungs, allergy sufferers, as well as children and elderly people are advised to spend as little time outdoors as possible.
The concentration of dust in the air at 8:00 on Tuesday morning was:
Nicosia: 126 mkg/m3
Limassol: 95 µg/m3
Paphos: 72 µg/m3
Paralimni: 92 µg/m3
Ziggy: 42 µg/m3
“Dust” is called inhalable particulate matter with a diameter of less than 10 µm (PM10) in air. According to the legislation, the limit value of the permissible average daily concentration of dust in the air should not exceed 50 µg/m3 (micrograms per cubic meter).
