Cyprus continues to monitor compliance with COVID-19 prevention measures

In the past 24 hours, the police of the Republic of Cyprus have conducted a total of 1,162 checks island-wide to ensure compliance with Government regulations on containment of the COVID-19 outbreak.

As a result, 21 establishments and 43 citizens were fined for violations.

In Nicosia, in particular, the police conducted 106 inspections and reported 8 violations at various establishments and 13 citizens fined.

In Limassol, 357 checks were carried out, during which 7 establishments and 13 citizens were fined.

In Larnaca, 177 checks were carried out, 1 establishment and 3 persons fined.

In Paphos 126 inspections were carried out, fines were imposed on 4 establishments and 7 citizens, in Famagusta 247 inspections were carried out, fines were imposed on 1 establishment and 7 people, in Morpha 149 inspections were carried out, no fines were reported.

In addition, 21 passengers were fined at Larnaca and Paphos airports due to the lack of a mandatory entry permit.

The checks will continue to be carried out.
