Since mid-November to date, Cypriots have taken more than 600,000 rapid tests for coronavirus. Given the size of the country’s population, it turns out that Cypriots have tested more actively for coronavirus than anyone else in Europe, said Constantinos Tsioutis, a member of the Presidential Council of Experts on Coronavirus.
Tsioutis noted that about 2/3 of citizens who tested positive for coronavirus showed some signs of respiratory infection, while the rest had the disease asymptomatic.
The expert urged Cypriots to be aware of symptoms typical of colds and called sore throat, cough, fever and bone aches a good reason to be tested to confirm or rule out the coronavirus. He reminded those with suspicious symptoms to isolate themselves and notify their physician.
