Cypriot woman asks her compatriots to help her return the kidnapped child

Vasilika Andreou, a 24-year-old Cypriot woman, is asking her compatriots for help in urgently raising funds to return her young son, who was kidnapped by his father more than a year ago, Philenews reports.

In 2018, Vasilika married an Egyptian citizen in Cyprus, in July 2019 they had a son. Two months later, her husband convinced the woman that they need to go to Egypt as a family, as his mother is very sick. On arrival, his husband locked Vasilika in the apartment, beat her and forced to leave the country, leaving the child.

Upon return, the woman asked the police to intervene to get her son back. She managed to persuade her husband to come to Cyprus to sign the divorce papers. When he arrived in the country, he was arrested and sentenced to four years in prison for child abduction.

The mother managed through an Egyptian lawyer to obtain guarantees that if she will be at Cairo airport on November 27, 10 days later she will be handed over her child. But to do so, she must pay 10,000 euros in court fees and other expenses. She does not have that kind of money.

Vasilika Andreou received the approval of the Cyprus Ministry of the Interior to collect money, but there is little time left, and she is asking for help.

The fundraiser’s bank account:
