Covid dissidents invited to see for themselves how busy Cypriot hospitals are

Last Tuesday an uninvited guest with a video camera was discovered at Nicosia Central Hospital. The man is known to have arrived in the capital from Limassol; according to Philenews, he wanted to prove that the authorities and the media are lying to the population about hospitals being overloaded with patients with coronavirus.

Charalambos Harilaou, spokesman for the state health organization (OKYPY), commented on the incident, calling it “unacceptable and condemnable.” He suggested that those who do not believe the figures published daily by the Ministry of Health should personally visit the intensive care units to understand the scale of the problem. However, it is not quite clear how the initiative can be implemented, given that visits to hospitals are now prohibited even for the relatives of patients.
