Statistical Service of Cyprus summed up the work of the automotive and motorcycle market on the island for the first 10 months of 2020 and found that the total number of facts of registration of vehicles decreased to 32,277 compared to 39,617 in the same period in 2019 – that is, by 18.5%. Statistics link this decline in sales to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic – the reporting period included two months of quarantine.
Sales of passenger sedans fell by 21% from 32,016 to 25,223. Of the total number of cars with such a body, 8,530 (33.8%) were new and 16,693 (66.2%) used.
Sales of trucks decreased by 20.6% – to 3750 in January-October 2020 (compared to 4722 in January-October 2019).
