From August 12, it is possible to enter the country without preliminary testing for COVID-19, but with compliance with the mandatory regime of self-isolation, which can be reduced after receiving a negative coronavirus test.
As of today, more than 15 airlines make direct flights from big cities to the capital Yerevan.
According to the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy, Armenia is open for air tourists only. Entry by land transport is not yet permitted.
All arriving air passengers undergo medical examination at the airports, after which they are sent to mandatory self-isolation, as the emergency regime in Armenia due to the pandemic has been extended until September 11.
Although quarantine lasts 14 days, travelers have the opportunity (at their own expense) to pass PCR test for coronavirus,” the official statement reads. “During self-isolation, coronavirus samples should only be taken by a laboratory specialist. And in case the test is negative, a person can leave the self-isolation before the expiration of 14 days,” reads the statement.
Wearing a mask in public places, both indoors and outdoors, remains a must for everyone.
The Tourism Committee of Armenia hopes that these measures will help attract more tourists and recalls that most countries in Europe, North and South America do not require a visa to enter the country. Or those who need it can apply for it at the airport.
