According to the police, the boat, with 21 passengers on board, came from Syria, and in the morning of September 23 it was caught by the radar of the Coast Guard of Cyprus near Cape Greco.
There were 5 men, 7 women and 9 children on board. They were all Syrians by birth. To date, 4 women and 9 children have been admitted to Famagusta General Hospital because of symptoms of dehydration.
All refugees, after receiving the results of coronavirus tests and medical care in the hospital, will be taken to the Purnara accommodation center in Kokkinotrimithia.
