The plans of Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism for the coming year is to develop a 300 km tourist route that will unite all major attractions of the country. This was announced by the head of department Savvas Perdios.
In addition, the official noted that the authorities intend to restore the tourism industry – the most affected by the consequences of restrictions related to COVID-19 – by improving infrastructure and the development of specific forms of tourism, the implementation of projects in mountain areas and rural areas.
Also, the organization of the largest advertising campaign in the history of Cyprus, aimed at promoting the opportunities of the island, has already begun. Its target audience can be both locals and visitors from abroad – depending on how things go in 2021 against the pandemic coronavirus. Recall that Cypriot statisticians have calculated that compared to 2019, the tourist flow in 2020 decreased by more than 80%.
